Eric Woolery, CPA has long been an advocate for the taxpayer, first as the founder of a regional CPA firm specializing in services for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and later in the public sector as the chief financial officer for a major County department and as a City Treasurer.
Eric was elected County Auditor-Controller in June of 2014 by a historic margin of 57% in a field of five candidates and was sworn into office in January 2015.
As a CPA he vigorously represented businesses, governmental agencies, and individuals against the state and federal government in matters of interpretation of the law. In his auditing experience, Eric created and implemented controls resulting in efficiencies in personnel, equipment, and cash.
Salvador has been employed by the County of Orange since 1998 where he has served in a number of capacities with agencies including the Health Care Agency, Social Services Agency, Probation, and OC Waste & Recycling. Additionally, at the Auditor-Controller’s office, he has held professional and management positions within both Central Operations and Satellite Accounting Operations. As Director of Satellite Accounting Operations, Salvador oversees accounting services for eight County departments.
Phil has been with the County since 1997, beginning as a contractor until being hired in 2005 with the Auditor-Controller’s Office. In 2008 he was promoted to Director of Information Technology supporting the CAPS+ Financial & Procurement System, the CAPS+ Payroll & Personnel System and the Property Tax Management System. Phil also provides the technical support for the Treasurer-Tax Collector.
Danielle Ortiz serves as the Manager of Public Relations, as well as the designated Public Information Officer for the Auditor-Controller. Danielle has over 15 years’ experience in government communication, and has served the County for over a decade in various PR and Communications assignments.
Kathy Tavoularis serves as the Director of Community & Government Relations, which encompasses Legislative, Government Affairs, Communications and Executive Management. Kathy is a recognized political and government strategist, and for 25 years has built a successful career in implanting, organizing and managing political campaigns and government affairs strategies.
Anthony Kuo brings nearly two decades of experience in public outreach, and both internal and external communications to the Orange County Auditor-Controller’s office as Executive Communications Manager. Additionally, Anthony interfaces with team members at all levels of the Department in his capacity as Chairman of the Auditor-Controller’s Higher Values Initiative. Previously, he served in communications and organizational roles with the state legislature, various trade associations, and municipalities.
Chris joined the County in 2013 after having worked for the State of California since 2007 upon graduating from Stanford. He manages the Auditor-Controller’s State legislative and County policy efforts. Prior to joining the Auditor-Controller’s office, Chris worked for an Orange County Supervisor, a California State Assemblymember, and a California State Senator in the Capitol. Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University and his Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California.
