The purpose of this site is to educate and inform the citizens of Orange County California about how their County controls and spends tax dollars.

The Auditor-Controller is the County's Chief Accounting Officer headed by independently elected Auditor-Controller Eric H. Woolery, CPA. Eric reports directly to the taxpayers to provide them and the County Board of Supervisors with objective financial management, analysis and advice. This office provides the County's accounting services mandated by the California Statutory Code to receive and expend the County's income of more than $5.5 billion.

Award-winning and assertive, the Orange County Auditor-Controller's Office has consistently earned a number of prestigious awards including the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting and the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting. The department is committed to being a careful and conscientious guardian of the taxpayer's dollars.

Dear Taxpayers,

As Orange County’s elected Auditor-Controller, it is my great privilege to have earned the trust of the citizens. I am committed to making this office open, fair and honest. The work of this office is critically important to the County as it keeps the financial affairs in order so that the entire system is efficient and transparent.

We report to the taxpayers first but our stakeholders also include County bondholders, investors, government and regulatory agencies. Our reports are available to the public and many are included on this website. For the public our annual “Orange County Citizen’s Report” is a summary of the County’s financial status, prepared for the public in layman’s terms and is completed by December 31 for the fiscal year ending June 30.

I invite you to sign up for our newsletter by clicking here to Sign up for announcements from our office.

We are here to keep the County’s finances in order and to assist the public in understanding how their hard-earned tax dollars are spent.
